DIY Burlap Bubble Wreath

Happy Thursday, ya'll!  I wanted to share a fun and beautiful project that I recently completed.  If you know me, you know that I love wreaths.  I love having an excuse to make a new one.  Any holiday is acceptable and fair game.  The best for me, is making one for someone that I love.  This Bubble Burlap wreath is perfect for spring and warmer weather.  I love how versatile burlap is and I have used it for many things.

Materials Needed:

  • 1 14" Straw Wrapped Wreath
  • 3 Yards of Burlap
  • 1 Bag of Floral Pins
  • 1 Roll of 4" Zebra Burlap Wire-Edged Ribbon
  • 1 Roll of 5 1/2" Sage colored burlap

Step 1:

Cut Burlap into 5x5" squares.

Step 2:

Once cut, fold each square in half to make a triangle.

Step 3:

Fold the triangle in half, and bring the left corner to the front.

Step 4:

Fold the right corner to the back of the triangle.

Step 5:

Take the floral pin and insert it through the corners that you just brought together at the bottom of the triangle.

Step 6:

Press the pin firmly into the Straw Wrapped wreath.

Step 7:

Continue Steps 1-6 until the entire wreath is covered.  Fill in with burlap squares until your desired look is achieved.

Step 8:

Add the colored burlap and pin as you go around the wreath.  Cover the colored burlap with the Zebra ribbon and pin in the same places until you've gone all the way around the wreath. Finish up by tying a large bow and securing it at the bottom of the wreath with floral pins.  Add an option letter to the wreath for embellishment.

This was such a fun project and I can't wait to surprise my friend with this at her baby shower next month!

I hope you all have a great day!

Five Favorites

This week is flying by!  I'm so glad a lot of this pollen is finally gone and I can locate my car again!  We enjoyed a nice dinner out on our deck last night with the kids.  I'm so excited that it's grilling season again!  I know this time with the babies will go by so fast, and I love all the time I am able to spend with their sweet faces.

I'm linking up with Shanna for Random Wednesday!  Go check out her fabulous new look on her blog and stop by and say hello!  She is headed to London to start a very cool opportunity and I'm so excited for her!!!

Here are five things that I'm loving this week!

1. Everything Gatsby related!  This book has always been by favorite.  After having to sit through the rather dull Mia Farrow/ Robert Redford film in my 11th grade Literature class, I'm hoping that Baz Luhrmann will do us proud with Leo and Carey!  I mean, how beautiful have all the released posters been?

2.  After a wait that lasted entirely too long, Mad Men is back!  I must have a thing for period pieces.  Mr. Draper and Co. are sure to please with Season Six, and I can't wait to see how this whole relationship with Linda Cardellini and Don plays out.  I've loved her since 'Freaks and Geeks!'

3.  Julianne Hough for Sole Society is the best line of shoes for Spring!  There are so many cute designs, it's almost impossible to decide!

4.  This awesome new book by Kelly Oxford, 'Everything is Perfect When You're a Liar.'

5.  New Ladies' Necklaces from my shop, Sparkle Cat Jewelry!  I'm obsessed with statement necklaces, and was really excited about how these turned out!  I'm always taking custom orders, so let me know if I can make you something special!  Please go "Like" my Facebook page and take a look around at my necklaces for little girls, too!

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Sparkle Cat Jewelry

I'm linking up with Shanna today, for Random Wednesday!  Love this girl!

Hi Lovelies!  It has been far too long since I wrote a post, but I've been busy working on a new project and I'm so excited to share it with you!

My daughter is 2 and a half years old.  She loves getting dressed up.  I am constantly getting her out of my jewelry.  I decided to start making bubblegum necklaces bracelets for her and when I had other people ask me about making necklaces and bracelets for their daughters, Sparkle Cat Jewelry was born.  One day while putting a few together, I asked Chandler what she thought we should call the necklaces.  "Sparkle Cat" was her answer and I decided that was perfect.  I also am making necklaces and bracelets for adults.

I've made a Facebook page and am now taking custom orders.  Please share with your friends!  Right now, we're doing a Giveaway for a $25 Credit for anything you would like.  Once we reach 200 fans, the winner will be announced!  You must "Like" Sparkle Cat's Facebook page and share the Giveaway picture to be eligible!

Here is the link to Sparkle Cat Jewelry's Facebook page!

I look forward to creating special pieces for you and your daughters!  Here are a few necklaces and bracelets that I've been working on!

Here's Chandler, my inspiration for everything!

Here are a few adult necklaces that were custom orders.

Here are some of my favorite little girls' creations!

Thanks so much for taking a look!  I really appreciate your support as I continue on with this fun, creative venture!

Happy Easter to all of you and your families!!!
